Asus and Disney have joined to develop the Disney Laptop – a netbook designed specifically for kids that’s fun, web-safe and easy to use. With colorful Disney-themed style, your child can explore a web world of technology on their own easily while parents still have the ultimate control with over 40 content regulation options.
Disney Laptop also allows parents to create a web-safe computing environment with many parental control options. These permissions can also be scheduled on a calendar, providing parents with a convenient, automated means of granting access on the days and times that they choose. Browsers and e-mail on the device have extra filters to assure that parents are able to control online safety, content and contacts for their children. Additional websites can be added for access, but only if the parent approves and submits the request within the password-protected system.
The system’s Disney browser has many kid-friendly Disney websites for kids to choose, and the 2D “gadget tray” (think Windows taskbar, or OS X dock) displays visual icons for easy access to applications. There’s also a collection of 15 widgets, including a stopwatch, a digital memo pad, calculator, and Radio Disney widget that streams real-time music and lets kids simultaneously submit song requests, if they wish. Many games to choose for all the fun.
Disney netbook also provide more than 10 customizable themes inspired by popular characters from Disney and Disney·Pixar including Cars, Club Penguin, Disney Classic Characters, Disney Fairies, Disney Princesses, Vintage Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and WALL-E. Popular Disney Channel series Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers, are also available.
Additional Disney-developed applications include Disney Mix for music and media management, and Disney Pix for photo customization and organization. There’s also a driving game, number game, memory game and photo scrapbook software included with every Disney Laptop.
By choosing the familiar and widely compatible Windows XP Home as the platform allows easier future software installs of programs such as Microsoft Office (not included) to help them with more advanced school projects. And kids can still enjoy this notebook as they grow up.
